Innovation Park Becomes a Reality

March 16, 2016

Revolution Aluminum Propco LLC announces the completion of its acquisition of the former Pineville International Paper site. Property transfer is a critical milestone in the previously announced Revolution Aluminum greenfield project. Redevelopment will transform the site into multi tenant Innovation Park. Mayor Clarence Fields, whose tireless efforts were instrumental in pushing the final deal over the finish line, said “the hard work over the last year to make this day happen will pay off in huge opportunities for all of central Louisiana.”

Significant infrastructure improvements are underway to provide advantageous electricity service and logistics options. Darren Olagues, president of power provider CLECO, said “supporting the growth of business and industry is a part of CLECO’s commitment to the communities we serve. CLECO is pleased to lend assistance and looks forward to working with all parties to help our community reach its full potential.” Two companies (Odor Tech and Bayou Engineering) executed leases and will soon locate facilities at Innovation Park. Revolution Aluminum will occupy the largest parcel (approximately 400 acres) to bring the current tenant-count to three. About eleven companies will eventually call Innovation Park home when the site is built out.

At capacity, collective capital improvement by tenants is expected to exceed $1.5 billion. It is anticipated over 1,000 permanent jobs will be created by Innovation Park tenants when site redevelopment is completed. "Revolution Aluminum and the other tenants of the park have the potential to be important and large-scale economic drivers for the Central Louisiana Region,” commented Jim Clinton, President & CEO of the Central Louisiana Economic Development Authority.
