U. S. Army announces partnership with Boise Cascade

The U.S. Army and Boise Cascade signed a partnership agreement on August 6, 2019, as part of the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) programat the Boise Cascade Headquarters in Lena, La.

Boise Cascade manufactures engineered wood products, plywood and lumber to building material dealers, home improvement centers and industrial customers.  The Alexandria EWP is one of their largest manufacturing plants.

“The PaYS program is designed to help Soldiers prepare for a career after the Army by connecting them with employers who understand the skills, discipline and work ethic that military service members bring to a business and back to their home community,” says Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Lane, Alexandria Recruiting Station Commander.

The PaYS program is a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross section of corporations, companies and public sector agencies.  The program provides America’s youth with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for the future.  The intent of the PaYS program is to provide a trained and skilled Solider an opportunity to interview with a company of choice after enlistment using a skill learned while serving in the Army.

“It is a win-win for both the U.S. Army and Boise Cascade … everybody benefits,” says Lane.

This program is part of a long-term U.S. Army effort to help Soldiers forge professional relationships with businesses and encourage business owners to look to the Army as a plentiful and reliable recruiting source.

The U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion, Baton Rouge is responsible for all Army recruiting in Louisiana, Mississippi and western Tennessee. Our 253 member field recruiting force is organized into eight recruiting companies with 45 recruiting stations, and we cover approximately 103,874 square miles of territory while searching for America’s best volunteers who will enable the Army to win in a complex world.
