Improving Workforce Quality through ACT WorkKeys
ACT WorkKeys is a job skills talent assessment designed to assist employers in selecting, hiring, training and retaining their workforce.  This is accomplished through a series of tests in areas that employers across the country have determined to be critical for their workforce.  The assessment measures foundational (critical and logical-thinking) and soft skills required to perform on well in more that 18,000 job profiles. 
Thanks to the determined efforts of enthusiastic champions like The Rapides Foundation and The Orchard Foundation, Central Louisiana has made tremendous progress in the utilization of WorkKeys assessment.  As the first step toward closing the skills gaps and improving workforce quality, Workkeys consist of assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information.  Successful completion of all three can help an individual earn the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), a portable credential that documents essential work skills.
