Rapides Parish Library goes digital
Rapides
Parish Library (RPL) is proud to announce it has gone digital. In addition to checking out
books, movies, CDs, and tapes, people can now download digital audio books, eBooks, music,
and videos from the RPL Website to their personal computers, laptop computers, eBook
readers, MP3 players, and other digital devices while they are at home. RPL will give
classes to those who would like to learn more about this service on Dec. 18, and Jan 15.

24th Latin Festival in Baton Rouge set for Sept 26
The
24th Latin Festival in Baton Rouge is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 26. Festivities include
dancing, music, food, jewelry making, community services booths, Hispanic services booths,
games for children, family time, workshops for children for them to learn crafts and face
painting. The Latin Festival is an opportunity for non-Hispanics to come out and sample

Cenla Band Schedules CD Release Party
Altar'd, a Cenla-based band, will host a CD release party at the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center in Alexandria on Saturday, August 28. Social Recall and America's Got Talent phenom Taylor Mathews will also perform. The show begins at 6:30 PM. Advance tickets are $10; tickets will be $15 at the door. All ticket-holders will receive a copy Altar'd's new release, "Divided," as well as a coupon for a free meal from Chick-Fil-A in the Alexandria Mall.
