A massive surge barrier designed and built by The Shaw Group to shield New Orleans from devastating storms reached its milestone of providing 100-year storm protection to the region. A unit of The Shaw Group has won a $278.2 million U.S. Army contract to provide environmental remediation and program management services at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., the Defense Department says. The Shaw Group recently received a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help clean up sites contaminated by munitions. Shaw is one of five firms who will compete for shares of the contract with the Corps Omaha, Neb., District.
