Building the Cenla Community of Entrepreneurs
To build a truly entrepreneurial region, a wide variety of entrepreneurship training options
must be available. Some are offered by universities, Small Business Development Centers, and
other entities. CAP is dedicated to building on the success of the Entrepreneurial League
System® of Central Louisiana by providing additional training opportunities for those who don't
currently fit into the ELS model.
CAP will be introducing on-line entrepreneurial training opportunities through Cenla.org in the
near future. We recently held a very successful Entrepreneurs' Fair, with participation from
more than a dozen service providers and more than 140 entrepreneurs. We also launched
seminar-style training sessions to help early-stage entrepreneurs acquire much-needed skill
sets. The first of those is Entrepreneurship 101.
Entrepreneurship 101 is a series of six sessions designed to assist those planning to start a
business, or someone who has a business and has discovered he or she does not have all the
answers. The sessions will be taught by successful Central Louisiana entrepreneurs that have
“been there.” They know firsthand the challenges of running an enterprise. Each evening session
will be 90 minutes and will be held in the Central Louisiana Business Incubator.
Class size is limited to 50 participants, so sign up now for this FREE service presented by
Cenla Advantage Partnership and the Entrepreneurial League System® of Central Louisiana.
The Six Sessions Include:
- What skills do I need to run my business?
- What records do I need to keep and why does it matter?
- How do I manage my employees?
- What happens when a sale is made?
- Who are my customers and how to I find them?
- Who can help and what do I do next?
