Unselfish receivers boost to Saints passing game

This year, perhaps we can all take a lesson from the Saints offense—it’s all about “we” not “me.” This year, the stereotypical “diva” receiver just won’t make it in New Orleans’ offense, because Drew Brees spreads the ball around too much and often throws to other plays who are open. Drew Brees: “A lot of the receivers have a similar personality…They’re all unselfish players..They all push and motivate each other, even if it’s quietly.”   Full article.

The Saints are currently tied with San Francisco for the No. 2 playoff seed in the NFC, which comes with a bye in the first round of playoffs. New Orleans has already clinched its third-straight playoff berth, and—for the first time—have at least 10 wins in three straight seasons. Their goal:“We need this win. Moments later, the New Orleans Saints kicked a field goal to win their game with Atlanta, giving them control of the NFC South race.  Full article.

Saints beat Tamp Bay Bucs

After the Saints’ dismal showing against St. Louis Rams on October 30, Coach Sean Payton decided to make the Saints’ Nov 6 game against Tamp Bay what he calls a “bat game.” This means the Saints would play hard-nosed, physical football, which they did. And—the shiny bats they got Saturday night was a nice motivational touch.  Full article.

Saints coach to undergo surgery for sideline collision injury

New Orleans coach Sean Payton will undergo surgery after tearing the MCL and fracturing the tibia in his left leg in a collision on the sideline of the Saints game with Tampa Bay. Saints pleased with early 4-1 record

The New Orleans Saints’ 4-1 record puts them at the top of the NFC South. New Orleans' only loss was a 42-34 setback on opening night against Green Bay, and that game ended with the Saints a yard away from a potential tying touchdown and 2-point conversion. If the Saints defeat Tampa Bay on Oct 16, that would give the Saints a two-game cushion in the division. Full article
